History

At the beginning of the 1960s, Vironas and Dimitris Vasileiou have decided to invest in tourism. So, in 1967 “Kos Hotel” was founded.  At the time, neither the tourism development in Kos Island had yet taken place and, of course, nor the hundreds of thousands of tourists had started to visit the island, as it happens nowadays. Almost forty years after that first step, the daughter of one of the two brothers, Julieta, and her husband Nikos Pouliou, had the desire of continue the family tradition so they bought the abandoned Xenia on the Vasileos Georgiou Street.  Their vision was to give to this old gem its original glory and to build a resort that someone could visit any time of the year and where visitors could actually stay by the sea.   And so they did.  After ten months of reconstruction and maintenance, the renovated “Kos Aktis Art Hotel” opened its gates for the public in 2005.

This effort was rewarded with grand success and that brought great confidence to the couple.  Naturally, the next step was immediately taken.  In 2008 they decided to expand their business activities to the island of Patmos and save the Xenia of Patmos by its complete destruction.  Their plan, apart from establishing the first and only five star hotel in Patmos, was to create a restaurant of high end gastronomy and a modern wellness center.  And so, in 2011, the hotel “Patmos Aktis Suites & Spa”, along with the restaurant “Apocalypsis” and the spa resort “Anasa Wellness & Spa” opened their gates, with the intention to make Grikos Bay a popular destination for tourists worldwide.

During the same year, the renovated building of “Silver Beach” also opened its gates. “Silver Beach” is a hotel of a small number of rooms and minimalist decoration, which gives the visitor the chance to feel the magic of Grikos Bay in the most affordable way. In 2012 another addition was made, as the seaside tavern that was next to “Silver Beach” passed under the administration of the Divine Hotels group.  Since then, “Plefsis” offers authentic dishes of the Dodecanese cuisine and a great variety of delicacies, served on tables that are literally set at the water’s edge. Lastly, in 2017, “Allotina Houses” became a part of the Group, a neighborhood of seven traditional houses in the area of Sapsila, one and half kilometers away from Skala.

In total, the Divine Hotels group includes five resorts of various types, three eating establishments, one of which is the many times awarded restaurant “Apocalypsis” while the “Η20 all day bar-restaurant” is a landmark in the island of Kos, two wellness and revitalization centers, a boutique, a representative example of Greek fashion, and three various areas for conferences or business meetings.  Our target is that despite which facility a guest would choose to visit, either for accommodation or just to enjoy any other of our services, that person should have an unforgettable experience of customer care and philoxenia.  Besides, that is the cornerstone of the Group: the memorable customer service.
